On 12 September 2026, the second German Recovery Walk will take place in Düsseldorf. Following the inaugural event in Leipzig, people with lived experience, family members, professionals and supporters will once again send a visible message for recovery, participation and against the stigmatization of substance use disorders.
The event is organized by Recovery Deutschland e. V. in cooperation with the NRW Committee for Addiction Self Help. The walk will be accompanied by a supporting programme offering space for dialogue and exchange.
We explicitly welcome and support initiatives like this. Visibility, dialogue and solidarity are essential elements of modern addiction prevention and support.
